Semendo Robusta Coffee

Indonesia is one of the largest coffee producing countries in the world. In the Province of South Sumatra (Sumsel) there is a popular specialty of Bumi Sriwijaya coffee, namely Semendo Coffee.

Semendo’s coffee beans come from plantations in the mountainous area of Bukit Barisan in the west of South Sumatra Province. At an altitude of 600 to 800 meters above sea level. The slope reaches 45%. This is what makes the land of Semende a fertile area and can be overgrown with various types of plants, one of which is coffee plantations.

The most famous Semendo coffee is the Robusta type. This type of coffee has been planted by farmers for decades. With a blend of spice flavors, Semendo Coffee has its own uniqueness. It is attracted by many coffee fans.

The name “Semende Coffee” is taken based on the name of the area that produces the coffee, the Semende Region is inhabited by the majority of the Semende Tribe. Semende coffee is grown on ancestral land which must be preserved from generation to generation so that the taste is maintained.

The land of Semende is indeed worthy and very suitable for growing coffee, this is also what keeps the taste of Semendo coffee awake. We are still planting and harvesting at this time. Robusta will only be harvested in April.

Coffee has become part of the daily life of the Semende people, both children and adults. Almost every family head will have his own coffee plantation. Herewith we are promoting Semendo coffee so that it can improve the economy of the community and farmers in our village
